Dinawan (Year 2/3)
Year 2/3 students have returned this term eager and willing to continue their learning journey. All students are again showing excellent engagement in all areas of school, and continuing to be kind, caring classmates.
Year 3 have just completed reading their first novel of the year, "Matilda" by Roald Dahl.
This has been a great novel to start the year of literacy learning with. We will start a new novel this week, and we are all looking forward to sharing the story, "Yirra and Her Deadly Dog, Demon" by Anita Heiss.
Students are also writing speeches for the upcoming CWA Public Speaking competition. This competition is for students in Year 3-6, but we will aim to give Year 2 an opportunity to write and present a speech as well. There are 3 topics to choose from:- A life in the day of ....., I like collecting, or It's too noisy!
Students are looking forward to celebrating their mums and nans this weekend. Students have completed a Simile Poem about their mums or nans, we hope our special mothers/nans will enjoy their special day on Sunday!
